UC232A USB to Serial Port Adaptor – (Order Code HA7001)
The USB Serial Adapter (UC232A) provides you with an external serial (DB- 9 male) Plug-n-Play connection for use with computers, notebooks, and hand held computing devices that support USB. The USB Serial Adapter has a standard type A USB plug.

This USB Serial Adaptor provides a high quality serial connection at a data transfer rate of up to 230Kbps, making the USB interface transparent to serial peripherals, allowing them to easily interface with USB computers. The interface supports connections to the Psion Teklogix Workabout, Netpad, Netbook, Psion Series 5/5MX, Series 7, Revo/Revo Plus, Series 3/3a/3c/3MX, NMEA 0183 devices such as GPS receivers and many more devices, some of which are not supported by cheaper USB to Serial adaptors. It can also se used to provide multiple Serial ports on a USB equipped PC ; up to 4 USB Serial Adaptors can be connected at once. The adaptor is powered by the USB port and supplied with drivers on CDROM and instructions. Dimensions: 60 x 30 x 10mm (2.36x1.18x0.39 inches), cable length 660mm (8 inches), Weight . The Actisense™ OPTO-1 cable is an easy, safe and low-cost method of connecting an NMEA system to a laptop PC (and any other device with a standard RS232 9-pin port). Whilst protecting the most vital and expensive devices in the NMEA system, it also converts from the PC standard RS232 9-pin serial communications port to an NMEA 0183 (RS422) marine bus link.

The OPTO-1 cable is a bi-directional NMEA 0183 (RS422) to RS232 interface cable, that utilises full galvanic opto-isolation to protect the PC input, and "tranzorb" protection for the PC output. This provides comprehensive isolation of expensive PC hardware when connecting to an NMEA 0183 bus that may have picked up potentially hazardous voltages around the electrically noisy environment of a vessel.

No external power supply is required as the cable takes all necessary power from the RS232/PC port. Simple installation requires wiring the open end to the NMEA bus, and plugging the D-type connector into the PC, to start receiving the NMEA data - true plug'n'play functionality.

Series 5 Parallel Link (Order Code HA5002)
Links the Series 5 with any standard parallel printer. Printer 2 drivers 2 for all common printer types are built into the Psion Computers. Together with a Psion Computer and any portable printer this makes an ideal compact package for letters, reports etc.

Psion 5 Travel Modem (Order Code HA5006)
A Fax modem which connects directly to the serial port on the S5. The unit comprises a battery powered (2AA cells) V32bis modem with fax V29 facility.

Psion 5 Waterproof Cases
The Jumbo Case measures 345mm x 340mm enabeling the users to operate their opened Psion whilst still inside the case, the case is supplied with an adjustable shoulder strap. Also available is the Waterproof Wallet 265mm x 130mm this is clear fronted with a quick release clip and a carrycord waterproof to a depth of 20 metres (65 feet) .

Psion Serial Link & PSIWIN & Communications Software (Order Code HA310)
This package provides excellent value for linking your Psion to a PC or serial printer or modem.The package comprises: A Serial link lead with 9 pin connection. RCOM software for MS-DOS to link your PC to your Psion .

PSIWIN software for Windows to link your PC to your Psion; PSIWIN integrates PC Windows applications with your Psion enabling you to take your PC documents with you on a Psion, work on them and then when you’re next at your PC, transfer them back. PSIWIN also adds an enhanced Windows version of your Psion database to your PC, Backs up all your Psion data and lets you print using your PC’s True Type fonts from a Psion.

PSIWIN also includes a Windows-based file manager/converter, Windows version of Series 3 database, Series 3 access to printers via a PC, even on networks, simple one-click backups of Series 3 data. Two different versions are available; the Series 3a version connects the Series 3,3a and Workabout computers. The Series 3c version connects the Series 3c & 3mx. (* a LIF connector is required in addition for the Workabout only).

Links the Series 3 with any standard parallel printer. Psion 3 Solid State Memory Disks.
Two SSDs may be fitted to the Series 3/Workabout computers at any time. They provide unlimited memory potential and complete data safety. SSDs are either Flash (requiring no battery) or RAM (with inbuilt lithium battery back-up). Available in capacities between 128KB (kilobytes) and 4 MB (megabytes).

Psion 3 Travel Modem (Order Code HA316)
A Fax modem which connects directly to the serial port on the S3c. The unit comprises a battery powered (2AA cells) V32bis modem with fax V29 facility. A dual mains adaptor is available to power both the 3c and travel modem from a single mains socket. To make use of the fax element users will need to purchase a copy of PsiFax software. Used in standard modem mode the unit can transmit and receive data at 14.4 with MNP 5 data compression, which can improve the effective data throughout.

PsiMail Internet (Order Code HA601)
This provides utilities for email, the internet and worldwide web browsing. You will need and internet account and a modem. The email facility provides a personal internet email address,allowing you to exchange mail with attached files and documents with anyone with an email address. The web browser allows the Psion to work just like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer and understands HTML level 3.2 and most commonly used web standards. PsiMail will work with the travel modem,PC card modem/adaptor and desktop modems (requires PsiWin).

Workabout Docking Holster & LIF connector (Order Code HA1W/B)
The docking holster provides secure storage for the WORKABOUT and has fixing holes for mounting on any flat surface. The LIF (Low Insertion Force) connector provided with the docking holster may be used connected to the Holster or on its own and gives connections for Series 3 serial and parallel (printer) leads, mains power and also allows recharging of batteries if the optional rechargeable battery pack is fitted.

Workabout Docking Station (Order Code HA2W/B)
Provides a means of connecting the WORKABOUT to and communicating with external Peripherals such as a PC, Printer or Modem using an RS-232 interface. The WORKABOUT simply drops into the holster and connects via the low insertion force comms connector. It also provides a fast recharging facility if rechargeable batteries are used.
