Psion Series 5MX

The Series 5MX is a third generation palmtop handheld compute, building on the unprecedented success of the Series 5, Series 3a and 3c.It offers many of the features associated with desktop Pcs but, unlike other palm top products, does not need a PC companion to provide this high level of functionality. The Series 5MX is the complete mobile office. It is supplied with the following inbuilt programs; Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Sketch (Drawing program), Agenda & Diary, Database, Sound Recorder & Playback, Calculator, Time (Alarms and World city display with Time zones and dialling codes and distances), Email, Contacts manager, Jotter, SMS messaging and programming (OPL language). Also included are a cable and PsiWin software on CD-ROM, for automatic synchronisation and transfer between a Windows’95 PC and the Series 5. A free browser and fax software are supplied on the CD-ROM. Dimensions of the Series 5MX are 168*90*23mms, weight 360 grams and fitted with 16 MB RAM. 

Laptop-style keyboard that fits in your pocket.Users need to be able to touch-type to create and edit business documents efficiently. They need to see a documents full width on screen, or a weeks worth of appointments at once. The Series 5 is the only handheld computer to offer Laptop-style touch-type keyboard and full VGA-width and a half VGA in height (640 by 240 pixels) making it the largest available on a handheld computer. The screen is touch-sensitive to allow user to select on-screen items and navigate using the pen which is supplied, and has sixteen grey scales and is backlit. 

Connecting to your PC and the world. The Series 5 conveniently connects to users other information systems: PC’s, Macs, corporate systems such as email, printers and the Internet . It comes complete with a PC connectivity solution,cable and Windows ‘95/98/NT software on CD-ROM, linking to Windows office applications and synchronizing with desktop scheduling packages, and is supported by an unrivalled range of optional connectivity and communication solutions including Mac connectivity, email and fax(via modems or mobile phones), printing and Internet access. Typical battery life is 1 month on a pair of AA batteries.
