THAMES AIS
As announced ,our consortium (Dolphin Maritime Software Ltd and Swale Marine (Electrical)) have been appointed as the base line supplier of the Thames AIS system.
(Passenger Ferry and Ferry Skipper using the Thames AIS system) Since November 2004 we have
actively worked in development and trials of the Thames AIS
system. With the aim of making a safe, reliable, easy to use and
economically priced onboard system that will enhance the safety of boat
owners and operations on the Thames. (All our development and trials
have been funded entirely by ourselves). Our Thames AIS system has
undergone long term trials on the Gravesend to
Tilbury ferry since January 2006, with valuable feedback from the
Masters, Mates and Engineers being incorporated into the present
system. Our Thames AIS System was also fitted to the
“Havengore” in August 2006, with quite a (typically)
awkward installation achieved in a proper manner by Swale Marine , with
the usual constraints of wheelhouse space, wiring, access and usability
all requiring careful design and installation.
Our Thames AIS System is therefore ready to fit and thoroughly tested. All our senior staff are down to earth seafarers, each with over 20 years experience in the relevant areas of marine software development, design, fitting and using electronic systems on boats and ships. All of us share the aim of installing a system that is both practical, reliable and easy to use for other seafarers. Both Dolphin and Swale Marine are members of the BMEA (British Marine Electronics Association) and all our work is carried out to a high standard.
